I am a storyteller through mixed media. I take everyday and found objects, then subject them to a process involving serendipity. I use vibrant colors, three-dimensional layers, deep shadows and shiny highlights to create new realities alluding to the spiritual. Sometimes representational, sometimes abstract, my work evokes a sense of order and meaning amid disparate elements.
Formerly a librarian, I now explore the world of mixed media. I have been an artist all my life. Ballet, creative writing, storytelling and drawing were my first arts. My first "decoupage" was an ice cream carton trash can covered with glued magazine pictures. I returned to collage after printmaking, oil, watercolor, pastel, figure drawing and pen and ink classes. After a mono print class at Penland School of Arts and Crafts in North Carolina, I evolved into my current mixed media style.
I have shown art in many states, received various awards and have art in private collections nationwide. I teach workshops, offer private lessons and do commissions. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
